Rysiakiewicz, Rev. Stanislaus
Roman Catholic clergyman. Born in Sieniawa, Poland Aug. 4, 1880. Attended high school (gimnazium) in Jaroslaw. Completed his course of philosophy in the University of Lwow and then studied theology in Cracow, Poland. Arrived in United States in Jan., 1904. Studied at St. John's Seminary, Brooklyn, N. Y. Ordained by Bishop McDonnell on June 17, 1905. His first assignment was as assistant pastor in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Brooklyn. In 1907 he was appointed pastor of Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church in South Brooklyn. Few years later he was instructed to organize a Polish parish in Jamaica and became pastor of St. Joseph's Church, Jamaica, Long Island, N. Y. in which capacity he still remains. Here he built a church, rectory, school and sisters convent. He is a great patriot and a leader of Polish Americans in Queens County. Residence: 108-43 Sutphin Blvd., Jamaica, L. I., N.
