Chrzanowski, John Joseph
Editor. Born in 1867 in Warsaw, Poland, where he received his elementary and secondary education. In 1887 came to U.S., settling in New York, where studied medicine in New York University, 1888-1891. In 1889 became editor of Polish daily "Ognisko" in New York City. In 1892 editor of "Kuryer Nowojorski"; from 1893 to 1895 secretary of "Zgoda" in Chicago, Ill. In 1895 nominated clerk of Public Schools in Chicago, Ill. In 1896 assistant secretary of the P.N.A. in Chicago, Ill. Editor of Polish Daily "Dziennink Narodowy," Chicago, Ill., 1899-1901. In 1901 editor of "Kurier Polski" in Milwaukee. Wis. From 1901 to 1922 chief editor of "Dziennik Narodowy," Chicago, Ill. In 1922 opened the book shop, Polish American Publishing Co. in Chicago, Ill., where he stayed until his death. Died October 30, 1933.
