Graduated from Julia Richman H.S. in 1931. Received B.A. degree from Hunter College, 1935, and in 1938 Hunter College awarded her M.A. degree. Studied at Columbia University, 1937-1940 (completed credits for Ph.D. degree in Polish--working now on a dissertation. Subject: Polish proverbs). Holder of N. Y. State and N. Y. City license to teach French in high schools. Received scholarship from Kosciuszko Foundation to study in Poland during the summer of 1939. Research secretary and assistant to Dr. Zygmunt Piotrowski of the Dept. of Psychiatry, College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University, 1937-1940. Polish social worker at the Brooklyn YWCA, 1940-1942. Editorial assistant "New Europe," a monthly magazine. Since May, 1942, contributing editor of the "Polish Review," published by the Polish Information Center. Member of Phi Beta Kappa (national honorary society).
