Corvin-Wiersbitzki, Otto Julius Bernhard
Author. Born in 1812 in East Prussia at Bumbinnen. He was a Iieutenant in the Prussian army, 1830-1835; participated in the Baden insurrection of 1848 and 1849; was sentenced to death by court martial; in 1855 he was released from prison. During the American Civil War he was correspondent of the "Augsburg Allgemeine Zeitung" residing in Washington and acted in the same capacity during the Franco-German war. He published: "Aus dem Leben eines Volkskampfers," 1861, in Amsterdam.
