Cylkowski, Angela Margaret, M.A.
District Superintendent of Chicago Schools. Teacher, author. Born in Chicago, III. Eldest daughter of Francis and Elizabeth Daluga Cylkowski, both of whom as children emigrated from Poland with their families in the early 1870's. Received elementary and secondary education in Public Schools at Chicago. Trained for teaching at the Chicago Normal School under famous Colonel Francis Wayland Parker. On graduation from the Normal School, taught in the Greene School of Chicago and in the Moseley School for Truant and Incorrigible Boys. Elected assistant to Principal of the Graham Public School in Jan., 1934. Elected principal of the McCormick Elementary School in 1937 from which position advancement came to the Superintendency of District Seven in Chicago, in which she is now (1943) serving. Received M.A. degree at Loyola University in Chicago in 1926; the Master of Arts degree from the School of Education at the same institution in 1931. Writings: Thesis: Personality as a Factor of success in the Educative Process, 1931. Translated Dr. Anna Wyczolkowska's "Marya Konopnicka, Her Life and Poetical Works," 1926. "The History of the American Flag"; "Scouting for Girls," for the Glos Polek, the Women's Alliance Paper. Affiliations:
