Education: Master of Science (M.S.), Technical University of Silesia, Gliwice (Poland); Ph.D., Doctor of Science (D.Sc.), Academy of Mining and Metallurgy, Cracow (Poland).

Career: adjunct, Coal Chemistry Department, Academy of Mining and Metallurgy, 1951-62; docent, head, General Chemistry Department, H. Kollataj Agricultural Academy, Cracow, 1962-71; prof., head, Organic Chemistry Department, vice rector, Silesian University, Katowice, 1975-80; visiting prof., Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, 1981-82; assistant prof., Department of Chemistry, Kansas State University, Manhattan, 1982-86; tenured prof., Department of Chemistry, University of Idaho, Moscow, 1986 -.

Author: over 100 scientific papers in the area of physical and organic chemistry in Polish, British, American and Swiss professional journals; 3 volumes of poems in Polish, 1988. 1993, 1994; 2 volumes of poems in English, 1991, 1994.

Member of: American Chemical Society; Polish Chemical Society; Polish Workers Free Trade Union - "Solidarnosc".

Honors: Excellence in Teaching, University of Idaho Alumni Association, 1988; 3 awards, poetic competitions.
