Lawyer, poet, editor. Born in 1854 in Czortkow, Poland. Secondary education received in Tarnopol. In 1879 received Ph.D. degree. In 1882 came to U.S., settling in Baltimore, Md. From 1891 to 1894 editor of "Polonia" in Baltimore, Md. In 1886 edited and published "Osa" in New York City. In 1889 edited humorous paper "Kukuryku" in Buffalo, N. Y. Later graduated from the New York University, Law School and was admitted to the Bar. Practiced law in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., later in Philadelphia, Pa.

Dr. Julian Czupka was prominent as lawyer, linguist and translator Dr. Julian Czupka, lawyer, linguist and translator died Monday [May 7] night. Will be buried this morning from his home 1022 South 51st Street. Dr. Czupka who was 68 was born in Poland. He came to this country at age thirty-three. He had studied law in Poland and practiced international law here. Dr. Czupka spoke seven languages and devoted a major portion of his time in the translation of books and manuscripts. Before he came to Philadelphia he divided his time between the practice of law and translating in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

Mrs. Martha Czupka, widow of attorney

Mrs. Martha Czupka widow of Dr. Julian Czupka died yesterday at Misericordia Hospital. She attended St. Paul's Presbyterian Church and was active in the work of St. Basil's Orphanage 832 N. 7th St.

Her husband who died in 1923 was a linguist, attorney and translator.

Services will be held at 11 AM Thursday at Oliver H. Blair's 1820 Chestnut St. Interment will be private.
