John Baciewski
Radio personality

Connecticut News by Tom Coss

In Plainville he is known as John Baciewski, but to Polka fans around the world his name is Polka Man Jack. H´ started in radio in 1973 with Joe Ladzinski from Southington at WICH AM Radio in Norwich doing a Polka show there.

Jack moved to another part of the state and in 1984 started a new Polka Show o WMLB Radio in West Hartford with Karen Olszewski. WMLB changed their format to all talk and the show was off the air.

This did not stop the Polka Ma as he then went on to do a show on WBIS Radio in Bristol with Ed Zavaski of Wallingford. WBIS was sold and changed to all Spanish and the show was off again. This still did not stop the Polka Man as he and Ed Zavaski went on to do a show on WMRD in Middletown and WLIS Radio in Old Saybrook.

Ed and Jack also did a show on WNTY 990 AM in Southington for a short time. After being pushed around the state and cut from radio station format changes, Jack knew it was time to go on his own. He then started the Polka Jammer Network and now broadcasts 24 hours a day with all Polka music over the Internet.

You can get to the Polka Jammer by going to the Tom Coss Website at www.tomcoss.net and going to my Links Page and clicking on Visit Polka Man Jack. Please check it out for the very best in Polka music seven days a week. That's all for this week.

Thanks - Take Care - God Bless - and Enjoy Polka Music!
