Mary C. Balkiewicz (1917 - 2003)
HomemakerMary C. Balkiewicz, 85, who would have celebrated her 86th birthday Friday, Sept. 26, died Saturday at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville. She resided at 15 N. White St., Shenandoah.
Born in Shenandoah, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Pauline Cieslukowski, educated in Shenandoah area schools and a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church, Shenandoah.Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were brothers, Anthony, Louis, Leonard, John and Theodore. Surviving are her husband a of 65 years, Adam Balkiewicz; sons, Daniel, Wyomissing, and Bernie, Shenandoah; Brothers, Joseph Cieslukowski, Connecticut, and Walter Cieslukowski, Shenandoah; sisters, Regina Brutto, Shenandoah, and Dolores Zagorski, New Jersey, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. in St. Casimir's R. C. Church. Private interment will take place Thursday in St. Casimir's Cemetery. Viewing hours will be Wednesday evening from 6 until 7 p.m. at the church. The Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc., 40 N. Jardin St., Shenandoah, is in charge of the arrangements.
Contributions may be made to the memorial fund of St. Casimir's R.C. Church.
