New Jersey - A Mass for Mrs. Cecilia F. Banach, 92, of Monroe was held recently in the Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy, after the funeral from the Kurzawa Funeral Home, 338 Main St., South Amboy.

Mrs. Banach, who died recently in Lakeland Health Center in Haskell, was the welfare director for the town of Kearny for 10 years before retiring in 1975.

Prior to that, she worked for the RCA Corporation in Harrison for 25 years and owned Marietta's Millinery Shop in North Arlington for 10 years.

She was a past president of the Polish-American Club in Kearny and an organizer of the Polish Community Center. Mrs. Banach was also a past president of the Rossmoor Catholic Society and the Rosary Society of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Harrison and a member of Mother's of Priests in Princeton.

Born in Belleville, she lived in Kearny for 40 years before moving to Rossmoor in Monroe 25 years ago.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Frances Wallace; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
