Sybil A. (Rogers) Banachowski, 85, wife of the late Stanley A. Banachowski, of Phoenixville, died Tuesday, at Life Care Hospitals of Chester Co., West Chester. She was a former resident of Skippack.

Mrs. Banachowski was born on March 15, 1924, in Abergavenny, Great Britain. She was a daughter of the late Robert G. and Elsie S. Rogers.

Mrs. Banachowski met her husband while he was stationed with the U.S. Army, in Great Britain, during World War Two. They married in 1946, returned to the United States, and she became a U.S. citizen in 1953.

Mrs. Banachowski was a retired retail sales clerk. She worked for the former Gimbels and Strawbridge & Clothier department stores in King of Prussia.

Mrs. Banachowski is survived by her children, Marion A., wife of Douglas Hunsworth, St. Augustine, FL, Joseph R., husband of Diane Banachowski, with whom she resided, and Jenette M., wife of Douglas Serota, Upper Frederick Twp.; her siblings, Marion Casey, Gloucester, Great Britain, and Keith Rogers, Abergavenny, Great Britain; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Services will be private. Arrangements are by the Holcombe Funeral Home Inc., Trappe.
