Helen Banczek ( - 2004)

Helen Banczek died Easter Sunday evening at Weatherwood, Weatherly, after a brief illness.

Born in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Domonica (Mackerivich) Banczek.

Until her retirement, she was employed at Macy's Department Store, New York, in its customer service department.

She was a member of St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church, Freeland.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were brothers, Frank, Leon, Joseph, Martin, Stanley and Adam Banczek; and a sister, Josephine Banczek. Surviving are a brother, Edwin Bonczek, Mountain Top; and sisters, Cecelia Banczek, White Haven, and Victoria Shane, Freeland. Several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the McHugh-Wilczek Funeral Home, 249 Centre St., Freeland. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Casimir's R.C. Church, Freeland. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

The Freeland Roman Catholic Community Bereavement Committee will conduct a Christian Wake Service Tuesday evening.
