Theresa F. Baradziej, 90, formerly of West Hazleton, and a resident of Fritzingertown Senior Living Community, passed away Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 26, 2008, at the facility following a lengthy illness.

Born in West Hazleton on June 26, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Florian and Nellie (Ruyzbuski) Koziel and spent most of her life in West Hazleton.

She was employed as a seamstress in several local garment factories and was a member of ILGWU.

She was a member of Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church, West Hazleton.

She enjoyed sewing, knitting and spending time with her family. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling and bingo.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Bernard Baradziej, who passed away in February 1986; a daughter, Barbara Ancharski, who passed away on June 26, 2007; sisters, Mary Imbert, Caroline Koziel, Ann Slebodnick, Helen Kendra and Genevieve Strack; a twin brother, Joseph; an infant brother, Henry; and brothers, John, Frank and Walter.

She is survived by her son-in-law, Frank D. "Buddy" Ancharski, St. Johns; grandsons, Frank J. and his wife, Judy, Gary, N.C.; Randy and his wife, Amy, Burlington, N.J.; and James and his wife, Patti, Drums; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Tiffany, Eli, Caleb, Noah, Lauren and Randall Ancharski; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. in Transfiguration R.C. Church, West Hazleton, with the Rev. Mark Balczeniuk as celebrant. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial will follow in Transfiguration Cemetery, West Hazleton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Saint John, 1201 N. Church St., Building B, Suite 403, Hazleton, PA 18202.
