Francis Baranick (1918 - 2007)
Tire builder, WW II Veteran

Francis Baranick, a retired tire builder, died peacefully Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, in Montgomery Hospital of Norristown. Mr. Baranick was the husband of the late Mary (Novitski) Baranick.

Mr. Baranick, a resident of King of Prussia, was employed the B.F. Goodrich Tire & Rubber Co., formerly of Oaks. He was a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church of King of Prussia and Veterans of Foreign Wars Coates Wafer Post 840 of Bridgeport. He enjoyed woodworking. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Born in Shenandoah on Aug. 18, 1918, he was the son of the late Francis and Bertha (Metracavage) Baranick.

Surviving is a son, Dale Baranick of King of Prussia; and a sister, Shirley Brennan of Bridgeport. He was preceded in death by brothers, George and Richard Baranick; and sisters, Irene Omer and Dorothy.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Dec. 28, 2007 at 10 a.m. in Mother of Divine Providence Church, Allendale Road, King of Prussia. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia. Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 9 to 9:50 a.m. at the church.

Arrangements are by the Bernard S. Gutkowski Funeral Home Inc. of Swedesburg, Upper Merion.
