Margaret I. Barnasevitch, 85, of Walnutport, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at Mahoning Valley Nursing Home.

Born in McAdoo, she was the daughter of the late John and Rose (Bencik) Kopashy. She was the wife of John Barnasevitch and a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, (Berlinsville) Walnutport.

Prior to her retirement, she was a sewing machine operator at Gerard Mills, Hazleton, for 28 years.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son, Ronald J., at home; a daughter, Joanne E. Whiting, Wilmington, N.C.; grandchildren, Jamie L. Crapoff, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; and AshIey N. Crapoff, Burlington, N.C.; a great-granddaughter, Katrina Crapoff, California; and sisters, Mary Gula, Hazleton; and Irene Hricak, Allentown.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Nicholas Catholic Church, (Berlinsville) Walnutport. Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. in the church. Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St., Slatington, is in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society c/o the funeral home.
