Baron, Rev. Anthony
Linguist. Born April 18, 1873 in Czyszki, Poland. Finished secondary school in Turin, Italy. Graduated from the University of Rome, where he was ordained Dec. 19, 1896. Came to U.S. in 1905. From 1905 to 1906 pastor of St. Stanislaus Parish, Boswell, Pa. Pastor of St. Mary's of Czestochowa Church, New Kensington, Pa., 1925-1937. Wrote an appeal to His Holiness, Pope Leo XIII, and went to Rome himself, where he explained to Cardinal Gotti the necessity of appointing some Polish priests as bishops in Roman Catholic hierarchy in U.S. Died in 1937.
