Cecilia A. Barowski, 40 N. Main St., Mahanoy City, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning at Lehigh Valley Hospital Center, Salisbury Township.

Born in and a life long resident of Mahanoy City, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Teresa (Pasieka) Yates and attended St. Fidelis School, and was a graduate of Mahanoy City High School.

Having been employed with General Cigar Factory and City Shirt Factory, both formerly of Mahanoy City, she worked as a library aide for the Mahanoy Area School District and taught CCD in Shenandoah and Saint Clair.

Mrs. Barowski was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, Mahanoy City and was a member and past president of the church Rosary society and a member of the choir.

She was also a member of the former ladies auxiliary of Good American Hose Co., Mahanoy City.

Surviving are her husband, Robert J., with whom she would have celebrated 50 years of marriage this July; sons, Robert T., Nesquehoning and Brian, Mahanoy City. One granddaughter, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews; and cousins also survive.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral Friday at 10:30 a.m. from the David D. Jarrett Funeral Home, Mahanoy City.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Fidelis R.C. Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Mahanoy Township. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
