Jadzia Barwick Honored By Polish American Republican Caucus As "Outstanding Citizen of the Year"

New Jersey - On Sunday, October 19, 2003 at the Wayne Manor, Polish American Republican Caucus, Inc. (PARC) will host several state, county and municipal Republican candidates at its Annual Champagne Brunch. The highlight of this year's Champagne Brunch will be the honoring of Jadzia Barwick PARC's Outstanding Citizen of the Year 2003. Jadzia - Wife, Mother, Educator, Volunteer - Great Republican!

Jadzia has been brought up to be proud of her Polish heritage. She received BA and MA degrees from Montclair State University, where she was a member of Pi Omega Pi, honorary business fraternity. While in college she made her debut at the Kosciuszko Foundation Ball and belonged to the Polish American Collegiate Association of the Kosciuszko Foundation. It was there that she and James, her husband met at a Chopin concert. She is on the Advisory Board of the Kosciuszko Foundation and had previously served as chairman.

Jadzia is an active member of the Polish University Club of New Jersey and serves on the scholarship committee. She was also past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Polish University Club of New Jersey. Jadzia is the Treasurer of the Pro Arte League of the Kosciuszko Foundation, and holds membership in the Polish Children's Heartline, The Polish Cultural Foundation and The Polish Republican Caucus, Inc.

She has been on the Board of the Passaic County Historical Society, chairing successful fund-raising events and served as Secretary of the Paterson Eastside Neighborhood Association, a civic organization.

Her career in education includes teaching at Paterson Eastside High School, The Sage School, Tombrock College, Sherwood Secretarial School, and numerous community adult schools. She now does home instruction as well as volunteer mentoring. At her parish church she had volunteered with the youth group.

Jadzia and Jim have three sons, James, John and Robert, and 10 grandchildren. She works with her husband in his accounting and tax business.

On Valentine's Day in 2001 she donated her own kidney to her husband.

Her motto: "Live life to its fullest, enjoying every moment, be compassionate, help others and stay close to God."
