ILLINOIS -- Robert "Bobby" Bobin, well known Chicagoland musician, composer, vocalist, music teacher died January 14, 1998 of a massive heart attack. He was 48 years old.

Bobby was a musician's musician, having written numerous songs including "Tell The Boys" polka, "Big Birthday Party" polka, "Katie's" polka and "Turnout the Lights" waltz, just to name a few.

He began his polka career with Gibby Mono, then playing with the Marion Lush group. From there he went on to an illustrious stint with the Pala Brothers, Chicago Push and the Downtown Sound. For the past year he was a key member of Eddie Blazonczyk's Versatones.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Denise, his sons, Robert and Scott, daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Paul and family, and his Mother, Mrs. Stephanie Bobin.

His talent, his smile and his friendship will be dearly missed. Bobby was one-of-a-kind. His musicianship spoke for itself. Songs penned by Bobby carried his trademark lyrics, melody and phrasing. He was musically creative and he made a true mark on the polka field.
