Bogdan, F. R.
Artist, painter. Born in a small town near Kovno, Riga. Attended schools in Riga, where he received his first art education. Studied in Academy of Art in Petersburg (Leningrad), graduated from the Art School in Warsaw, Poland. Came to U.S. in 1901, doing various art works, chiefly mural paintings. His specialty is religious subjects and portraits. In the museum of Hoboken, N. J., there is an excellent copy of Madonna of Murillo: "Assumption," painted by the artist. Married and father of three children.
