Born Mar. 27,1900, Lwow, Poland; came to U.S., 1941; daughter of Adolf Lilien and Emma (de Mises); married Wlodzimierz Czarnecki.

Education: engineer architect, Lwow Technical University, 1927; Frank L. Wright Taliesin Architecture School (WI and AZ), 1936-37; diploma, School of the Art Institute, Chicago (IL), 1991.

Career: prof., head, Department of Interior Architecture, School of the Art Institute, 1941-67; Retired; lecturer, Columbia College, Chicago.

Author: numerous architectural projects i.a.: Drawings and water colour.

Member of: scholarship foundation, The Marya Lilien Foundation for the Advancement of Interior Design; board directors member, Kosciuszko Foundation; honorary member, Polish Arts Club, Chicago; Chicago Architectural Foundation; Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences of America (P.I.A.S.A.).

Languages: Polish, English, French, German.

Hobbies: collecting art.
