Paryski (Panek), Anthony Alfred
Publisher. Born July 11, 1865 in Bochen, near Lowicz Poland. Received secondary education in Lowicz, later clerk at the postoffice in Lowicz and Warsaw. In 1888 came to U.S., settling in New York and later came to Detroit, Mich. Started as a printer at "Gazeta Narodowa" in Detroit, later at "Gazeta Katolicka" in Chicago, III. In 1886 editor of "Wiarus," Winona. Minn. In 1887 came to Toledo, 0.. where he started to publish a weekly paper "Ameryka." In 1902 bought another weekly "Echo" in Buffalo, N. Y.; joined both papers and founded the Polish Daily paper "Ameryka-Echo" of Toledo. 0. Used different pen names: "Parysso," "M. Brass," "Opinia." "Lowiczanin." Published and reprinted over five million books for the Polish readers in U.S. and abroad. Died April 23, 1933 in Toledo, Ohio.
