Peska, Francis
Attorney-at-law. Born in Chicago, Ill., December 20, 1895. Attended Holy Trinity parochial school and secondary schools in Chicago. Upon graduation from a Law School admitted to the Illinois State Bar in 1911. He was engaged in the general practice of law until 1920, when he was appointed assistant to the attorney general of state of Illinois in which post he remained until 1927. He was elected attorney general of the city of Chicago. In 1931 he returned to the private practice of law and opened a law office at 1 North La Salle Street, Chicago, Ill. He was elected committeeman from 35th ward three times. In 1928 he married Otyllia Bukolt and has one child. Governor Dwight Green of Illinois appointed him commissioner of Illinois Commerce Commission. He is author of several books on jurisprudence and court administration. He was elected honorary member of Illinois State Attorney's Association. Member of Polish National Alliance of U.S. of North America, Polish Roman Catholic Union of America, Polish Bar Association, Chicago Bar Ass'n, Illinois Bar Ass'n and numerous other organizations. He is a director of Lullaby Furniture Company and Northern Hardwood Veneer Corp. of Butternut, Wis. Residence: 3000 Lowell Avenue, Chicago, Ill.
