Nicole Piasecki

Vice-President, Business Development, Commercial Airplanes

Nicole Piasecki is vice president of Business Development for Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Named to this position in January 2010, she is responsible for the strategic planning and analysis critical to enhancing the business' long-term competitiveness. Piasecki reports to Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and Chief Executive Officer Jim Albaugh.

Previously, Piasecki was president of Boeing Japan. Named to that position in November 2006, she was responsible for developing and strengthening the company's presence, managing business partnerships and pursuing new growth and productivity initiatives in Japan.

Before that, as vice president of Business Strategy & Marketing for Commercial Airplanes, Piasecki led strategic business planning and marketing for the organization's products and services.

Previously, Piasecki was vice president of Sales, Leasing Companies, for Commercial Airplanes. In that position, she managed Boeing business relationships with all airplane leasing companies worldwide, including the sales and marketing of all commercial airplanes and aircraft services to leasing firms.

Piasecki joined Boeing in 1992 as a customer engineer on the 777 program and held subsequent positions in Sales Operations and Business Strategy. She holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Yale and a master's degree in business administration from Wharton at the University of Pennsylvania. Piasecki also has attended the Keio Business School in Japan as part of her business degree program.

Piasecki's previous career experience includes working for Piasecki Aircraft Corporation; Cresap - a Towers Perrin Company; Weyerhaeuser Japan, Ltd.; and United Technologies, Sikorsky Aircraft Division.

Piasecki was elected to the Board of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan in 2008. She also serves on the board of directors of the Weyerhaeuser Company, which is headquartered in Federal Way, Wash. Piasecki also has served on many nonprofit boards, including the YWCA of Puget Sound, in Washington state.

In 2004, Piasecki was appointed to the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration Advisory Council by Norm Mineta, then U.S. Secretary of Transportation, and served until 2007.

Piasecki is married and has three sons. She enjoys flying and has a single-engine pilot license.
