Piatkowski, Grzymala Romuald
Professor and educator. Born in Sokal, Poland, Feb. 12, 1857. Elementary schools in Trembowla, secondary in Tarnopol, Poland. ln 1892 came to U.S. From 1892 to 1909 professor at the Polish Theological Seminary, Detroit, Mich., and later in Orchard Lake, Mich.; editor of Polish weekly "Niedziela" in Detroit. From 1909 to 1911 chief of the Polish Press Information Bureau in Chicago, Ill. In 1910 secretary of the World Convention of the Poles in Washington, D. C. From 1912 to 1916, first rector of the Polish National Alliance College, Cambridge Springs, Pa. From 1917 to 1939 again professor at the Polish Theological Seminary, Orchard Lake, Mich. In 1937 nominated honorary member of the Alumni Association of the Polish Seminary, Orchard Lake, Mich. In 1938 nominated Knight of St. Gregory by Pope Pius XI. Died in 1939 in Orchard Lake, Mich. Some of his writings are: "Krytyka Czystego Rozumu" (translation from Kant) and "Prolegomena."
