Piekarski, Francis A.
Attorney-at-law. Judge of county court of Allegheny County. Born in Nanticoke, Pa., August 18, 1879. Received preliminary education at Wyoming Seminary, Kingston, graduating in 1901. Entered the College Department of the University of Pennsylvania, graduated in 1905. receiving LL.B. degree. Played for years on the varsity football team and in 1904 was selected as guard on Walter Camp's All-American Eleven. Admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1906. Served as assistant city solicitor of Pittsburgh and solicitor for the auditor-general in Allegheny County. Active in Polish-American circles for which work awarded order of "Polonia Restituta." President and director of the Pittsburgher. Polish Daily Publishing Co. and director of the Pennsylvania Trust Company. During World War I served as member of the Pittsburgh Legal Advisory Board. Engaged in the practice of law until May 6,1933, when be was appointed judge of the county court of Allegheny. Elected for a full term in November, 1933. In 1942 he resigned because of his illness.
