Piwowarski, Andrew
Professor, lawyer, writer, lecturer. Born in Skrzydlana, Poland, Nov. 11, 1877. The son of John and Hedwig Piwowarski. Education; received secondary education in Bochnia, Poland, 1889-1897; attended Theological Seminary in Tarnow, 1897-1899. Studied at the Jagiellonian University, School of Law, Krakow, Poland, 1899-1903, from which he received LL.B. degree. Came to United States in 1903. Professor of classic languages at the Polish Theological Seminary, Detroit, Mich., 1903-1912. Professor of languages at the Polish National Alliance College, Cambridge Springs, Pa., 1912-1918. Engaged in the general practice of law in East Chicago, Ind., 1920-1934. As a lawyer he was very active in the civic affairs; he was instrumental in the building of a monument to General Pulaski in East Chicago, Ind. Since 1934 he is engaged as a professor of languages at St. Mary's College, Orchard Lake, Mich. Member of the Polish National Alliance of U.S. of North America. Since 1937 editor of "Alumnus" published by the Polish Theological Seminary Alumni Association at Orchard Lake, Mich. Married Olga Juliet Bodynski in 1906. Some of his writings are: "'Historja Seminarjum Poiskiego," 1910 "Pamietniki Parafjalne," 1915-1932; "Almanak Jubileuszowy Seminarjum Polskiego," 1935.
