Pliszka, Stanislaus
Civic worker. Born in Poland, Sept. 19, 1864. Came to U.S. as a boy. Organized the first Polish Choral Group, later known as Chopin Choir in Chicago, Ill. First organizer of Polish Singers Alliance of America, a national organization which now numbers about 110 choral groups. Member of P.N.A., Polish Singers Alliance of America. Was very active in the Polish community life in Chicago, Ill. and also active in civic affairs. Died March 7, 1943 in Chicago, Ill.
