Przybylowicz, Michael
Pubic official. Born Aug. 24, 1826 in Posen, Poland. Came to U.S. Sept. 1851 and settled at Fort Leavenworth on March 19, 1852, where he lived until 1858. About 1858 built the first brick building In Leavenworth ever built in this city of Kansas. Elected to several city and state offices. In 1858 went to Weston, and later to St. Joseph, Mo. Returned to Leavenworth, Kansas, and lived here until his death about 1895. Took part in the Civil War; in 1869 opened a Continental Hotel in Leavenworth, Kansas, operating it until his death. Democratic leader, elected two times a member of the State Legislature of Kansas.
