Pytlasinski, Ladislaus
Wrestler. Born in Warsaw, July 26, 1862. In 1885 entered first tourney. In 1888 took second place in the Swiss Olympics, during a wrestling tourney. In 1890 in Paris, gained international recognition when defeated Karol Absa. In Warsaw in 1891 defeated the famed German Hercules Emil Vossa. In 1901 won the world's wrestling championship. Came back to Poland where he taught the Poles rudiments and principles of wrestling. Came to US several times for a short visit. Created the first Finnish wrestling. Died November 10, 1933 in Poland.
