Sadowski, Joseph
Officer. Born 1848 in Grujczyna, Poland. Took part in the 1863 Polish insurrection against Russia in Lelewel's army. Engaged in the battles of Siemiatycze and Wlodowa. After the failure of the insurrection fled to Krakow and later to 0lmutz [Olkusz?]. Joined the regiment of Polish lancers‹as assistant to Maximilian, Emperor of Mexico, amid came to Vera Cruz, Mexico. After Maximilian's execution, left for Houston, Texas, where he worked in stockyards at Rock Port. About 1877 came to Bremond, Texas, bought a farm, stayed there until his death.
