Samolinska, Theophila
Poetess. In 1870 contributed her poetry to "Orzel Polski" and "Przyjaciel Ludu," two Polish weekly papers. Very active in "Gmina Polska," about 1880 in Chicago, Ill. In 1879 asked by the Poles in U.S. to write an address in poetry to honor Joseph Ignace Kraszewski, to commemorate the golden jubilee of his writings as novelist. In 1880 won the first prize for her comedy: "Trzy Flory," in a contest in Warsaw, Poland. Died Dec. 1,1913 in Chicago, Ill.
