Sarnecki, Rev. Carl
Roman Catholic clergyman. Born Nov. 4, 1881 in Pleszew, Poland. Attended elementary school in Pleszew and continued his studies in Ostrow. Studied philosophy and theology in the University of Liege, Belgium. Arrived in U.S. in Oct. 1906. Ordained to priesthood by Bishop Henry Gabriels of Ogdensburg, N. Y. His first assignment was as assistant curate of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church (Greenpoint section), Brooklyn, N. Y. Organized a library for the use of the parishioners. On May 14, 1909 he was appointed pastor of St. Hyacinth Church, Glen Cove, Long Island, N. Y. which he organized. Died in 1934.
