Son of Frank and Mary Schwaba; came to Chicago in 1877; educated in parochial schools; graduated from Stevens Point High School; Metropolitan Business College, Kent College of Law, 1913; admitted to practice law in 1913; asst. gen. attorney in 1914; asst. attorney to the first Industrial Board in 1916; elected judge of the Municipal Court in 1922, re-elected in 1925: elected judge of the Superior Court in 1929 and re-elected in 1935; married June 23, 1915 to Joanna Kuchnowski; children: Joseph, Thaddeus, Anita, Peter H..
