Siekaniec, Rev. Ladislaus, O.F.M.
Roman Catholic priest. Born Nov. 19, 1914 in Sioux City, Iowa. Attended High School and Junior College of St. Joseph Seminary, Westmont, Ill.,1927-1933. Joined the Franciscan Fathers in 1933, and took his vows in 1937. Studied philosophy at Our Lady of Angels Friary. Cleveland, Ohio,1934-37. Studied theology at St. Joseph Seminary, Teutopolis, Ill., 1937-41. Ordained in 1940 and belongs to the Sacred Heart Province, Franciscan Fathers. Appointed as assistant to St. Stanislaus Church, Cleveland, Ohio, in 1941 where he is at present (1943). Very active in Polish circles and civic activities. Member of the South East Cleveland Community Council and on the Board of Directors of the University Settlement. Parochial chairman for Polish Relief. Lectures occasionally on Polish History and contributes articles on Scholastic personalities and philosophy. As a seminarian he distinguished himself by his research studies on outstanding medieval scholastics. His articles appear in the specialized quarterly "Franciscan Studies" and in the religious monthly "Franciscan Herald and Forum." Since September, 1941 be has contributed the following articles: "Cardinal Fisher and Duns Scotus" and "Duns Scotus and the English Reformation" to the Franciscan Studies" "A Name to Revere" (Robert Grosseteste), "A Universal Doctor" (B1. Raymund Lull), and "Disputa of Duns Scotus" to the Franciscan Herald and Forum. Residence:
