Simmons (Szymanski), Aloysius Harry
Baseball player. Born May 22, 1903 Aberdeen Club, Dakota League; in Milwaukee, Wis. In 1922 played for 1923 in Texas League; in 1931-32 Athletics Club, American League; in 1933-1934 Chicago White Sox; in 1935 Detroit Tigers; in 1936-37 Washington Club; in 1938 Boston Bees; in 1939 in Cincinnati National League. Received most valuable baseball player award in 1933. American League Batting Champ in 1931 and in 1933. Resides in Milwaukee, Wis.

Simmons (Szymanski), Aloysius Harry
Known as the "slugger who made Milwaukee famous." Al compiled a .334 lifetime average, winning the batting crown in 1930 with a .381 batting average and one season later with a .390 average. Simmons was voted MVP in 1929 as a member of the Philadelphia A's. He died May 26. 1956, in Milwaukee. (Inducted into the Polish-American Sports Hall of Fame in 1975)
