Siwiec, Fred
(1919 - 2008)

NEW JERSEY - Fred Siwiec, 89, of Clifton died on May 20, 2008.

Born in Passaic, Mr. Siwiec lived in Clifton for many years. Prior to retiring, he had been employed at Bendix Corp. and Kearfott in West Paterson. He served during World War II as Chief Radio Operator in the Merchant Marines from which he was Honorably Discharged. Mr. Siwiec was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corp. (CCC) in Butler, NJ and Calaveris, CA from 1935 1936 and was a member of the Chopin Singing Society in Passaic for twenty five years. H´ had a love for God, family, literature, music, nature and chess.

Mr. Siwiec was predeceased by his brother, Walter, and by his sisters: Celia, Helen and Victoria.

Survivors include: his wife, Mary (nee Sudo) of Clifton; his four children: Elaine Vigilante of Clifton, Fred Siwiec and his wife, Linda, of Mine Hill, NJ, Ronald Siwiec and his wife, Mona, of Saylorsburg, PA and Christine Ganowski and her husband, Paul, of Park Ridge, NJ; and seven grandchildren: Jennifer, Lauren, Corey and Jarrett Siwiec and Michael, Stephanie and Maria Ganowski.

Funeral services were held from the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton and at St. Philip the Apostle R.C; Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton. Interment in St. Michael Cemetery, South Hackensack.
