Steven S. Skorczynski was born in Philadelphia where he also finished High School. He studied at LaSalle University and received a BA degree in Chemistry. He continued his studies at Pennsylvania State University and received a PhD degree in Chemical Science.

Presently he is employed as Senior Group Leader in the Formulations and Product Group of JRF America, part of the United Phosphorus Corporation Inc. He is the author of a number of publications, scientific articles and conference and seminar presentations on the subject of hormones and metabolites.

For many years, in addition to his professional work, Dr. Skorczynski has been active in Philadelphia Polonia. He attended the Adam Mickiewicz Polish Language School. He was an active dancer with the Polish Intercollegiate Club where he also held several offices, including that of the club's vice president. Later he was active in the Adam Mularczyk theater group where he was a successful actor in comedic roles. For over 25 years he has been associated with the Polish Home and has done much for Philadelphia Polonia.

He is also involved in the work of the Polish American Congress Eastern District. He supports the activities of a number of societies and clubs based at the Polish Home, including: The Polish Peoples University (PUL), the Adam Mularczyk Theater group. the Polish Heritage Society. Together with his wife Dorothy, who supports her husband and also takes part in Polonia activities, he is raising two sons, Christopher and Anthony. For his active involvement Dr. Skorczynski has been recognized through many awards and certificates from Polonia groups.

As president of the Associated Polish Home, a Polish American Social and Cultural organization, I welcome our members and Polonia to consider holding activities and special events in our ballroom or picnic grove. We are conveniently located in Northeast Philadelphia, and you can select the caterer of your choice. The Polish Home is also the meeting place for several Polish American organizations including the Adam Mickiewicz Polish Language School, the Polish Intercollegiate Club of Philadelphia, P.K.M. Polish Folk Dancers, Polski Uniwersytet Ludowy, Adam Mularczyk Theatre Group and Marcella Kochanska-Sembrich Chorus. We have ballroom dancing every Wednesday evening with the exception of the first Wednesday of each month, country dancing every Monday evening, and dances once a month in the upstairs ballroom.
