Slisz, Stanislaus Thomas
Editor and writer. Born March 4, 1856 in Kolaczyce, Poland. Secondary education in Jaslo, Chyrow and Krakow. Graduated from Jagellonian University in Krakow, law school. In 1885 came to Buffalo, N. Y. From 1885 to 1887 editor of Polish weekly "Ojczyzna." In 1887 editor of weekly "Krytyka," Milwaukee, Wis. From 1887 to 1889 editor of "Wiara i Ojczyzna" and "Kropidlo" in Chicago, Ill. From 1889 to 1908 editor of "Polak w Ameryce" in Buffalo, N. Y. From 1908 to 1909 editor-in-chief of "Polak Amerykanski," Buffalo, N. Y. Some of his writings are: "Podrecznik wojskowy," "Z milosci," "Obcy w rodzinnym kraju," "Emigrant," "Pod pokladem," and many short stories. Died October 10, 1908 in Buffalo, N, Y.
