Snieszko, Stanislaus
Bacteriologist. Born in Cracow, Poland, Jan. 28, 1902. In 1926 Jagiellonian University in Cracow awarded him a degree of Doctor of Philosophy. Former assistant, associate instructor and professor of microbiology in the University of Cracow. Director of Micro-biological Institute at the University of Warsaw. Author of several monographs in his specialized work published in Polish, English and German languages. Came to U.S. August 21, 1939 as a delegate of Jagiellonian University to attend the International Congress of Microbiology held in New York City. Because of the start of the II World War was unable to return to Poland and remained in P.S. Professor of bacteriology at the University of Maine. Author of a symposium on Hydrobiology "Pond Fish Farming in Poland," published in 1941 by the University of Wisconsin. Corresponding member of the Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences in America.
