Katarzyna "Kasia" Sobczyk (Kazimiera Sawicka)

Born in Tyczyn near Rzeszow. Early in her life the family left the area and moved to Koszalin. In 1961 made her debut as a singer for the group "Bialo-Zieloni" [White Green]. Two years later participated in the youth music festival in Szczecin. During the 1960s had a string of hit recordings in Poland. Toward the end of the 1970s emigrated to Chicago where she made two records. In 2008 returned to Poland where in 2010 she finally succumbed to breast cancer. She was married to Henryk Fabian Sawicki.
