Sokal, Henry B.
Physician. Born in Poland, July 14, 1890. Completed elementary and
secondary education in Lwow, Poland. In 1920 University of Lwow granted him degree "Doctor of Medicine." Married Ethel Torten in 1916. Has three children: Ada, Nathan and Joseph (lieutenant in the U.S. Army). Attending physician of Polish Army at Epidemic Hospital in Lowicz, 1920; Sanitary Referee to the High Commissioner for epidemic control in Wolynia District, 1921. Member of the medical staff Post Graduate Hospital, New York City, 1928. On the medical staff of Mt. Sinai Hospital, New York City from 1926 to 1934. Member of the American Medical Association, Polish Medical Association, Kings County and Brooklyn Academy of Medicine. Chairman of the Polish Health Education Committee in New York City. Formerly vice president of the Polish Circle in New York City. Author of miscellaneous medical articles and public health pamphlets. His treatise "The Treatment of Bronchial Asthma," was published in the Medical Record, Nov. 20, 1940 and ibidem Sept. 1942. Residence: 141 Kent St., Brooklyn, N. Y.
