Polonia Bids Farewell to Dr. Margaret Jean Sosnowski-Lepak

Dr. Margaret Jean Sosnowski-Lepak, 68, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2006.

Dr. Sosnowski-Lepak, daughter of Joseph and the late Emily Sosnowski, attended John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls High School, received psychology degrees from the College of Misericordia, Dallas, PA, Wayne State University and the University of Detroit.

She taught psychotherapeutic counseling techniques at St. Mary's College, Orchard Lake, Michigan; served four years as Philadelphia' s Welfare Commissioner; director of the Division of Children and Youth Services, state Welfare Department; and deputy chief of the medical branch of Family Court.

She was a member of various Polish American organizations including the Polish American Congress.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, February 9, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Interment was at Westminster Cemetery.

The Polish American Congress, Eastern PA District, and the entire Polonia extend condolences to her husband, father, children and the entire Sosnowski and Lepak families. May she rest in peace.
