Clergyman, writer. Born Aug. 22, 1894 in Pittsburgh, Pa. Son of Valentine and Helen (Sumeracka) Stancelewski. Graduate of Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, Pa. Studied theology at St. Vincent's Seminary, Latrobe, Pa. Ordained Dec. 21, 1918. Organizer and pastor of SS. Philip and James parish, in 1922 at New Castle, Pa. Post-graduate at Westminster College, Wilmington. Pa. Active in social, civic and patriotic affairs. Leader of Polish youth, one of the organizers of the "Filaret" Association in America. President of the organization for 25 years. Co-editor and editor of the students publication "Filaret." President of the Polish Roman Catholic Priests Association in America. Group IV, Pittsburgh, Pa.. at present (1943) Vice-president. Member of the Exectitive Board. Member of Community Chest. Defense Board. New Castle Hospital Council. Guest Lecturer at Westminster College, and station WKST. New Castle. Pa. Teacher of ethics and psychology in New Castle Hospital School of Nursinrg. Organizer of the monthly publication, "Kazalnica" (The Pulpit); at present its business manager, the only Polish Homiletic Magazine in the U.S. and Canada. Decorated by the Polish Government with "Polonia Restituta" and General Hallers' Swords. Residence: 10 E. Chartes St., New Castle, Pa.
