Stawska, Mother Mary Bonaventure
Felician Order. Teacher. Superior-General. Born Oct. 29, 1855 in Torun, Poland. Entered the Order of The Felician Sisters in Cracow, Poland in 1883. In 1894 made her final profession of vows. Teacher in various schools in Poland from 1884-1894. In 1894 appointed as a member of Provincial Council and Mistress of Novices in the Detroit Province. Served in this capacity until 1909. In 1909 recalled to Cracow, Poland, to fill the vacancy of the late Mother Mary Cajetan, as Member of the General Council. From 1912 1920 Commissary of the American Provinces. In January, 1920 returned to Cracow, where in July 1920 at the General Chapter was elected Mother General, for a term of twelve years, until 1932. Died Nov. 4, 1934 at Cracow, Poland. Buried by special permission under the community Chapel in Cracow.
