Polonia Activist

Stephanie was the daughter of immigrant parents and was born in Auburn, NY, As a Polish housewife she maintains a Polish kitchen and celebrates all the customary traditions with the family.

Her activities in the Polish community where she has resided all her life is as follows: Polish Falcons of America: Has been a member since age 12 and participate in all of their physical training and sports activities.

Polish Women's Alliance: She has been a member for 25 years and throughout the years took part in group's programs ad fund raisers.

Polish Arts Club: She was an eager participant in promoting Polish history and culture for 20 years until the Club was disbanded.

Polish Heritage Society; Has been a member of this organization since its beginning.

St. Stanislaus Church: She is an active member of the Holy Name of Mary Society where she served as historian for many years. She played a role in the establishment of the Parish Archives, which began as a repository for church records but now includes data relative to the history of entire Polonia.

She helped refugee families arriving from Poland during Soviet occupation.

She assisted in setting up numerous displays depicting Polish history, culture and art at museums, libraries, and festivals. She was instrumental in renaming a local library to Pulaski Library and assisted in expanding the library's collection of books by Polish authors.

During the time when her husband was Chairman of the Rochester-Krakow Sister Cities Committee, she helped to organize the hospitality extended to many official guests and students from Krakow.
