Sumeracki Jacob P.
Civic leader. Born April 2, 1891 in Chicago Ill. Son of Jacob and Anna Sumeracki. Went to Hammond Ind., at the age of six years. Attended parochial and public schools. and the Hammond Business Institute. Came to Detroit in 1915 and was a real estate salesman. In 1916 established himself in real estate and building construction business. Enlisted in the first World War and served overseas in the 125th Field Artillery. After the war reentered the real estate and building construction business. In 1932 elected Wayne County Treasurer and served five consecutive terms.
