(1937 - 2008)
David J. Swejk, 71, of Akron, passed away July 6, 2008, at Akron City Hospital after a short illness.
He was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. Dave graduated from Akron North High School. He later retired from General Tire after 28 years as an Application Programmer. Currently he was a groundskeeper at Sunny Hill Golf Course in Brimfield. Ohio. Dave was president of PNA Lodge 1099, past president and director of the Polish American Citizens Club and a long time PRCUA group 977 member. He was also president of G.A.B.P.A Traveling Seniors Bowling League and member and past president of the Senior All-Star Traveling Bowling league.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Virginia and sister Marilyn. Dave is survived by his wife of 51 years, Susie; daughter, Mary Beth Swejk, sons, Michael (Laure), Rick (Terryl), and Ed (Chrysa) Swejk; grandchildren, Lindsay Campisi, Patrick, Katie, Andrea, Zachary and Ryan Swejk; sister, Barbara (Tom) Smith; brother, Jerry (Judi) Swejk; and, many other family members and friends.
Dave was a PNA member for 55 years and proud that all his children and grandchildren are PNA members too!
A fixture at the PNA National bowling and golf tournaments, his organizational and travel planning for family vacations, Myrtle Beach and PNA events for Lodge 1099 PNA be greatly missed.
