Szeszycki, Joseph F.
Public official. Born in Chicago, Ill. Son of Karol and Stanislawa Szeszycki. Joined the Fire Department in Chicago, Ill., July 30, 1908. Enlisted as a volunteer in the U.S. Marines in 1917. Honorably discharged from armed service as a lieutenant May 5, 1918. Upon his return to civilian life, he again joined the Fire Department in Chicago, Ill., November 20, 1919. Appointed lieutenant of the Fire Department in 1919; promoted to captain March 4, 1924. Appointed chief of battalion January 16, 1941. Married. Residence: 3304 West Hamlin Ave., Chicago, Ill.
