Diplomat. Consul General of Poland in Pittsburgh, Pa. Born in Konin, [near] Poznan, March 28, 1886. Son of Daniel and Natalie (Peczke) Sztark. Completed gymnasium ("gimnazium") in Kalisz, Poland. Studied at the Polytechnical Institute, Darmstadt, Germany, from which he received Masters Degree in Civil Engineering. Post graduate studies at Technical Institute, Brno, Czechoslovakia. Married Aniela Dabrowska, June 4, 1907. Children: Isabelle and Janina. Engaged in civil engineering in Poland and Russia from 1910 to 1919. In diplomatic and consular service of Republic of Poland since 1919; served at Murmansk, Russia; Cologne, Germany; also in Central Office of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Warsaw, Poland. Consul General of Poland at Pittsburgh, Pa., since 1938. Dean of consular corps of Pittsburgh district. Member of Prehistorical Society at Poznan, Poland; National Geographic Society and Alumni Ass'n of Darmstadt Students. Decorations: "Polonia Restituta," Medal of Independence (Poland), Coroana Romaiei (Roumania), Order de Leopold II (Belgium), Ordine Equestre de S. Gregoria Magno (Vatican City), SS.
